Sayo: Jomi what did you get for valentines?
Jomi: I was single
Sayo: Interesting, but who asked for your relationship status?
From stalls to shop, flowers beautifully arranged with red balloons ready for “The lovers”. Valentines is a beautiful day to celebrate love, by spending quality time with your partner, the people you love, gifting thoughtfully and of course to make all your single friends jealous of all what your boyfriend delivered to you.
So now that valentine is gone, you have to wait another 350days for bae to come through? We think not. Everyday is an opportunity to make the people you love feel special and spoil them because you know we really are not promised tomorrow.
Not every gift has to be expensive; it’s the thoughtfulness that matters. Not every outing has to be expensive, sometimes a trip to that Amala spot someone recommended would just do. Gift to say I’m sorry and kiss to say thank you.
Anyways, we got a red velvet cake delivered to Sayo someone who was sorry lol. Thank You Someone
The cake was from Cookie Jar and when it got delivered it was a sight indeed. The caramelized sugar decoration was absolutely beautiful and the dripping syrup made the cake look even better. We weren’t sure whose idea it was to decorate with grapes, guess it looked prettier but it was out of place.
Cutting into the cake you could tell how moist it was, the red color was vibrant and the layers of cream just complimented it. The cake tasted amazing, it was just so moist, and the cake and cream had the right amount of sugar so it wasn’t too sweet. It was perfect, however reaching the bottom of the cake there was a layer of giant red velvet cookie, which served as the base of the cake. We didn’t really enjoy the cookie; the texture was just too different.
We absolutely love cookie jar cakes, they are a bit on the pricey side but we think they are worth it. A slice cost over N1000 and the cake that was delivered was N12,000, Uber ride to ours was an additional N4500 (Yup that cake had the whole ride to itself).
The problem we have with cookie jar is, no instructions on how to care for your cake after delivery. Should it be kept in the fridge? How long can we keep it for? . When we buy their cake in store it is mostly served out of their fridge (Fresh) but that toughens the cake a bit and it needs to be left out for a while before it can be enjoyed.
Cookie Jar is a must try; even if it’s just a slice, just take someone special in sometime (Especially if they are Sayo & they love cake that would be extremely thoughtful WINK).
Have you ever tried Cookie Jar, what did you think?
